About Us - Who We Are
Philosophy

The Columbus Jewish Day School, founded in 1998, is a pluralistic community school, grades K-6. CJDS is committed to academic excellence in a fully integrated program of study, in the context of a warm and nurturing environment in which children are active learners. The two-teacher model the school employs creates the opportunity not only for an integrated curriculum, but for a focus on each individual student in the school as well.

CJDS is committed to helping students grow into socially responsible citizens of the world and the local community. The philosophy of Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel is a building block of the school, and guides this mandate of social responsibility.

The Columbus Jewish Day School is located on the Northeast Jewish Community Campus.  We have recently moved in to a brand new, state of the art facility.  Our convenient New Albany location, allows our students to have access to the Village of New Albany Schools Wetland Nature Preserve.  CJDS also shares space with a branch of the JCC Early Childhood Education Program and Summer Camp, a branch of the Tifereth Israel Religious School, The Florence Melton Adult Mini School, and other Jewish educational programs, making the building a vibrant center of Jewish life in the northeast sector of Columbus.
